Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood on Monday disclosed that 10,000 schools were being shifted to solar energy in the province.
Presiding over a departmental meeting, the minister said 5,000 schools were situated in such areas where there was no electricity, whereas 5,000 other schools had also been included in this project.
Mashhood said the required funds had been transferred to EDOs of those districts where schools were being shifted to solar energy and this project would be completed during the ongoing financial year. He also observed that uninterrupted provision of electricity in government schools set up in far-flung areas was need of the hour. Pakistan Today
